Essay Competition 2020

Artificial Intelligence - A Brave New World or Apocalypse?

And the Champion is...

Covid-19 might have kept our schools closed, but it did not stop our students to excel! This year is the first time in the history that the Final Presentation of the Lions Youth Exchange English Essay Competition be conducted online through recorded presentations to maintain social distance in fighting the virus pandemic.

The 15 students who have entered the final presentation were shortlisted from over 130 student essay submissions and stood out among the 50 who were selected into the interview round of the competition. These students have immensely demonstrated their agility in coping with the changes and attest their persistence and perseverance to overcome challenges in life.

We have applied social distancing among our honorable judging panel as well. It is the first time we have arranged panel judicators to take part in the panel remotely over video conferencing. Student presentation videos and visual aids were conducted digitally over the internet. Evaluation was submitted electronically and the panel verdict was deliberated in real time. Thanks to all who have gone through these with us! Together we have shown our strength, the resilience and optimism of humanity even in darkest shadow of the virus roaring.

Now may I present you the champion and the Top 10 fellows.
